New conference, training center, classrooms and laboratory
The project is an educational facility built on a 1.91 acre site located within the Mueller PUD. The owner, Southwest Educational Development Laboratory (SEDL), is a private, nonprofit educational research, development, and dissemination corporation. The completed Phase I facility at RMMA provides SEDL with 52,500 square feet including a new conference center for teacher training, demonstration science and technology classrooms and laboratory and general office space. The project also includes a 110 space surface parking lot. The building and site parking design were planned and constructed in a manner that will allow for future expansion of the building and construction of structured parking facility on the surface lot.
UDG provided all civil engineering design of utilities, parking and building. The project design included service from chilled water and reclaimed water use. UDG provided LEED support for site issues. The building was designed to obtain a LEED silver ranking.
